No wonder his son became a cult leader. What an awful father.

Strongbow lies on the ground like a fat turtle who can’t turn himself over.
Every fake indian should have to go through this gimmick at least one time
    in their career.

I loved this clip. A few seconds later in the show, Tatanka was helping
Jay and was yelling, “Why would anyone wanna do this? Why? Whhhhyyyyy?!”
    LOL.

Kwang vs. Tatanka rematch, IRS comes out again to audit the feathers. As
Tatanka goes to confront IRS, Kwang spits that green mist in his eyes,
getting himself DQed. Kwang leaves as IRS then jumps in the ring, ties
Tatanka in the ropes, puts on the headdress, and then prances around doing
that stereotypical indian dance when one hops around, cupping one hand over
the mouth. IRS then begins to tear apart the headdress, causing Strongbow
to come out, which is where this video picks things up.

This was potentially a fantastic feud by 2 evenly matched wrestlers (in
terms of size and strength) but Vince McMahon didnt capitalise on it. IRS
began feuding with Razor Ramon shortly after instead!

Unfortunately this is missing the first part of the video. From what I
recall, the week earlier, there was a Tatanka vs. Kwang match on
superstars, where IRS came out with a microphone to remind Tatanka that he
hadn’t paid the gift tax on the headdress that (I believe) Chief Strongbow
gave him. IRS was touching the headdress, which infuriated Tatanka and
caused the match to be thrown out. This is the following week…

This actually happened in 1994 shortly after Wrestlemania 10.

  9. Deep Ghoul June 1, 2014 12:49 am

This was actually from April 1994.

Did Tatanka ever get his revenge on IRS?

I liked it better when Ernie Ladd did this to Strongbow back in the 70s.I
loved how they played it off that the feathers were some tribal treasure. It
was really funny when Fred Blassie outed the Chief on a promo and said he
was really a Dago from South Philly, which was completely true.

that story line was messed up :S

Yeah well he didnt pay the gift tax did he. You lose Tatanka.

I saw this with Ernie Ladd and Strongbow back on old school NWA on TBS.
This is TWICE that Jay Strongbow has had a headdress ripped up on him.
Makes me think that he wasn’t really Indian at all. I remember this
episode, in that Vince was genuinely quiet, Lawler not only had to do the
show almost by himself, but he actually made fun of himself just to get
Vince to talk. Not sure if Vince was genuinely remorseful but it was one
rare moment of decency from Vince on that show. 1:33. Funny lol

@ateammember6 I agree, this feud never got a payoff. I mean sure, Tatanka
and IRS fought a lot on the non televised house shows across the globe, but
the blow off should have been at Summerslam 94. But Tatanka shocking the
world and turning heel was just as good.

iam glad i seen this as a child i was like 8 or 9 ..cuz wwf never talk
about this moment at all …. btw i used 2 wrap myself n wit tha

I’ve been looking for this for the longest time. This was actually from May
1994 on WWF Superstars. One of the rarest appearances of Cheif jay
Strongbow in the 90′s. Great drama that can’t even be recapured in today’s
wrestling anymore. In terms of storyline, it made no sense because about 3
months after this, Tatanka would turn heel and join IRS in The Million $
Man’s Corporation. The Tatanka vs IRS fued never went anywhere so that’s
why they shocked us with Tatanka’s heel turn at Summerslam
